Reketė Hillfort

Reketė hillfort called "Pilalė" (castle mound) is a natural mound in the valley of the right bank of Blendžiava which has formed by change in the bed of the river and washing of the surrounding lands. It is surrounded by a river from the south and by a swampy meadow from the north. No defensive ramparts or courts of the castle can be seen on the top. Local residents tell that there was a castle on the hill the defenders of which fighter with Russian and Swedish people. The jewelry robbed by the Swedish people are allegedly buried in the castle mound; thus, it attracted the attention of treasure hunters who dug a hole on the top of the hill.
