Rūdaičiai Shrine Hill
Rūdaičiai shrine hill called as Alka Hill is situated on the top of the high altitude dominating in the county. It is told that there were several oaks on the hill and an altar made of stone with a sacred fire was standing between them. Allegedly prophets used to watch summer solstice from Alka hill: in the morning the sun rises through Negarba hill and the sun sets through Rūdaičiai hillfort. Earlier the hill was surrounded by Alka marshes from the north and north-western sides.
During the period of 1940–1941, the Red Army built one of pillboxes forming the Molotov Line fortification system on the western slope of the shrine hill.
The legend says that one giant lived on the hill and one giant lived on Negarba hillfort and they used to hand over an axe to each other.
