Dauginčiai II Hillfort

Dauginčiai II hillfort which is known as "Pilalė" and as the Moon hill is a putative hillfort near the left bank of the river Minija, in Šilpelkė forest. This is a 70 m length crest of the hill which stands in the valley of the left bank of the river Minija. There is no historical and archeological data on the hill. The defence reinforcements and cultural layer characteristic of the hillfort have been noticed. In 2003, An artistic annotation mark was erected at the expense of Salantai Regional Park Directorate (author Arvydas Klovas).
