Japanese garden

The Japanese Garden, initiated by Japanese master Hajime Watanabe and Dr. Šarūnas Kasmauskas, and developed over more than ten years in a greenfield near the town of Darbėnai, is an integral part of Japanese culture. This Japanese Garden is the largest in Europe, covering an area of 16 hectares. It features an impressive collection of bonsai trees, a stone garden with Japanese cherry trees (sakura), and several ponds. When the sakura trees are in bloom, the garden transforms into a truly magnificent sight. During the blooming season, visitors can also enjoy the blossoms of star magnolias, azaleas, hazel trees, and many other plants.
