Kalno Grikštai II Hillfort

Kalno Grikštai II hillfort was set up in the promontory of the hill which is surrounded by deep hollows full of springs in the north and southern sides and by a wide valley of the river Minija from the west. The hillfort dates back to – beginning of the second millenium. A wooden castle which protected the western approaches to Ceklis land of the Curonian tribe was standing in the hillfort. The hillfort is covered by a forest damaged by long-term plowing and excavated pits.
