Kartena Church of the St. Assumption of the Virgin Mary

One of the most beautiful buildings in Kartena is Church. The colorful wooden church has been known since the 17th century. To this day, three ancestral houses of prayer stood in Kartena. When the last church burned down, permission was given in 1874 for a new one that still stands today. When you arrive in Kartena, it is good to take a walk around the church, which is surrounded by a pseudo-Gothic gate, 14 stone chapels. And if you enter the interior of the church, you will be surprised by the pulpit of exceptional beauty, three beautiful altars, a metal cross-relic dating back to the 17th century and one of the oldest Baroque-Classicist organs in the Kretinga district.
