Kretinga site of massacre and grave of Jews

At the end of September 1941, June-August 1941, Kretinga Jews, persons who were accused of collaboration with the Soviet occupying power, the persons who displeased the German occupying power and its helpers including the book smuggler who honoured Lithuania, the member of the Great Seimas of Vilnius Jurgis Gudas (1868–1941), died in this place. In total, around 700 citizens of Lithuania for whose commemoration a monument was built during the period between the two world wars were killed and buried here.
