Mother Teresa’s Sisters Monastery

Sacred Heart Franciscan Missionary Congregation or the Home of Teresa's Sisters can be easily found in Kretinga. The monastery with a vivid blue roof is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Kretinga. Teresa's sisters moved to an old wooden medical building in 1991. Since then they became an integral part of Kretinga: sisters visit families, take care of needy people, homeless people. The nuns who have brought the building and garden back to life inspire people. Both men and women who are determined to their life can live in their home. The nuns have saved more than one life. Volunteers are always welcome in the home of Teresa's sisters and the nuns can be easily recognised in public. The sisters wear the same white saris decorated with bluish strips just like the Mother Teresa who is the founder of the Congregation.
