Salantai Monument for the 1000th Anniversary of Lithuania

The monument was built on the initiative of the community of Salantai Town (chairman V. Butkus). It was opened on 2 August 2009 for commemoration of the 1000th anniversary of the first mention of the name of Lithuania. The monument weighs about 3 tonnes. It consists of two natural granite stones, metal emblem of the 1000th anniversary of the name of Lithuania and the carved cross.
