Site of the first massacre and grave of Jews in Salantai

At the end of September 1941, the German SS officers and the Lithuanian auxiliary police officers who came from Kretinga shooted more than 150 men of Salantai Jewish community in this placee. This place is marked by a small concrete tomb with wooden commemorative plaque the 1970s in its south-eastern side, at the foot of the hill which in nearby. A monument built in 1967 on the top of the hill which is near the site of the massacre.
