Site of the second massacre and grave of Jews in Salantai

In July-August 1941, Salantai and Šateikiai auxiliary police officers killed women and children of Salantai Jewish community in this place. According to the data of the Holocaust Atlas of Lithuania, 95 victims are buried here. In 1980, a wooden sculpture showing a Jew with his hands tied was erected behind the mound (author: folk artist J. Bunka).
