Sūdėnai Stone

Sūdėnai stone with a bowl lying in the valley of the stream Kulšis which was in the territory of the former watermill may look like a simple stone only at first sight. If some facts are known, the stone takes on a much different meaning. Sūdėnai stone is also known as the Altar Stone. This means that the stone saw how our ancestors lived. The mythological stone could be used by pagans for rituals. The stone of a metre and a little has a flat bowl with the diameter of up to 38 centimeters with slots. Legends about sacrifice on the stone and punishments are still told. It is said that heads of serfs were allegedly cut on the stone because they could not work any longer.
